Neath RFC

WRU Championship action returns to The Gnoll on Saturday for the first time since January 29 when Neath entertain Beddau (kick off 2.30pm).

The Blacks have had an eventful time since then, qualifying for the final of the WRU Championship Cup against Bargoed next month with a hard-earned win at Maesteg Quins and the team worked equally as hard to win their last league game at Ystalyfera too.

Coaches Patrick Horgan, Andrew Howell, Tim Ryan and the squad have just three games to prepare for the final. Places are up for grabs so Neath make several changes in their starting line-up.

Aaron Bramwell will lead the side from full back with James Roberts on one wing and former Aberavon wing Matthew Jenkins makes his Neath debut on permit from Trebanos. Ryan Evans and David Langdon are at centre while Steff Williams and Macauley Griffiths continue at half-back.

Jack Powell, Josh Clark and Tim Ryan form a lively front row with Ross O’Connor and Jacob Blackmore packing down behind. In the back row, David Griggs is flanked by Alun Jones and Carwyn Sion.

On the replacements’ bench, Sion Crocker, Gareth Lloyd with his ability to play either side of the scrum and Ciaran Comerford provide the forward cover with one place to be confirmed alongside Iestyn Morgan.
