

Neath are back in WRU Championship action on Saturday with a visit to Ystalyfera (kick off 2.30pm).
The Blacks earned themselves a Cup final tie against Bargoed last week with a hard-earned 25-19 win at Maesteg Quins and expect an equally as strong challenge in the Swansea Valley this week.

HISTORY
Neath first played Ystayfera in the opening game of the 1908/09 season on September 5 at The Gnoll, Neath winning 25-5, centre Frank Rees scoring the first try of the new campaign on his way to a hat-trick, Bill Sandham getting a couple, Dick Hughes and Bill Jones one each with Jack Phillips converting two.
The Blacks followed up by winning 22-6 in 1909/10 too through tries by Gwilym Jones (2), Shon Evans, Arthur Williams, Tom Davies and Tom Reason. Then the First World War intervened until more modern times !
