Neath RFC

NEATH 29 points BONYMAEN 12 points
A bumper Boxing Day crowd saw Neath triumph over Championship West leaders Bonymaen who gave a very account of themselves at The Gnoll.
Neath led 12-7 at half-time through tries by scrum-half Connor Tantum and wing Morgan Meaclem, outside-half Paul Short converting the former.
The Blacks added three second-half touchdowns by wing Jon Bayliss, hooker Kian Jones and replacement flanker Will Pope, Paul Short converting another.
No league points were at stake but there was plenty of edge, ‘presents’ were exchanged and referee Mr Andrew Moule (Port Talbot) had to issue a couple of belated Christmas cards.
Bonymaen’s tight forwards never gave up the ghost and they pounced for two tries of their own – one in each half – by young winger Levi Perry and hooker Andrew Pritchard with the mercurial Lawrence Thomas converting one.
