Neath RFC

Neath RFC is pleased to announce the first pair of their summer recruits.

Centre LEWIS EVANS comes on board from from Maesteg Quins. A Neath College graduate, Lewis hails from Resolven (whom his father captained) and he has also played for Bedwas in the Premiership. Lewis played 1 game previously for Neath (the 19-5 win over Llandovery in 2017/18). He also has the versatility to play at full back and outside-half and can kick goals.

Former Neath outside-half IWAN EVANS is returning to the Club from Llanelli. Iwan, who hails from nearby Ystradgynlais, has made 80 appearances for the Welsh All Blacks but departed for a spell in New Zealand in 2018/19. On returning to Wales, he joined Llanelli where he also appeared at full back and centre last season.

The pair will be valuable additions to The Gnoll squad as the Blacks seek to build upon last season’s successes.

Coach Patrick Horgan said, “We are pleased to welcome both Lewis and Iwan back to The Gnoll.

“They are still relatively young players and have a solid block of experience behind them. Being from the locality is important to us and to the supporters too.

“Lewis and Iwan have proven qualities and their versatility will be a bonus in our drive to the top.”
