Neath No.8 Leon Ward has had his red card, issued erroneously for alleged punching, in the 15-21 defeat at Bridgend rescinded.

Having considered all of the available evidence including the video footage of the alleged incident, the WRU Disciplinary Panel determined that the case against the player was not proven and the red card has been expunged from the records.

Therefore, it is “carry on” Leon – but Neath can still feel a little hard done by as, directly following the incident (for which Bridgend’s Adam O’Driscoll was also dismissed), in the re-arrangement Bridgend pounced for a 7-point score which in the end made the difference.
