Neath RFC

Neath coach Gareth Llewellyn says that Saturday’s visit to Narberth may be the toughest of Neath’s three warm-up fixtures.
Having successfully negotiated games at Ystalyfera (38-17) and home to Moseley (14-12), Neath go to Pembrokeshire seeking a hat-trick of pre-season wins.

But the former Wales lock says, “There can be no resting on our laurels.
After resuming late because of last season’s play-offs, we are still a little behind in terms of preparation.

“Friday’s win over Moseley was a feather in our cap along the way and a lot of players enhanced their reputations but it is all about aspiring to new standards.

“We still have players to come back into contention and Narberth may see first starts for Ed Howley, Neil White, Ryan Thomas and Scott Hicks who are all available again.

“Saturday’s game at Narberth will be another challenge as they are a strong outfit who are always pushing at the top of the Championship and are always fresh and raring to go at this time of year.”

The team will be announced here as usual after training on Thursday.

** NEATH’s PREMIERSHIP season kicks off on Saturday August 26th at 7:30pm at The Gnoll vs Swansea RFC with further home games scheduled for September against RGC (September 9th) and Llanelli (September 23rd).
