Neath RFC

Neath can leapfrog Pontypool at the top of the WRU Championship –  if only for a short tenure – if they succeed against Maesteg Harlequins who visit The Gnoll on Tuesday evening (kick off 7.15pm).

The Blacks beat bottom club Tata Steel on Easter Saturday but Quins will be a much different prospect and there are 8 personnel changes in the home starting line-up.

In the continued absence of captain Ryan Evans, scrum-half Luc Jones will lead Neath out and there are also returns for Aled Brew, James Roberts, Louis Rees, Jonny Bayliss and Gareth Lloyd.

The third Kneath brother Fergus is on the replacements bench so if he joins Evan and Morgan for the first time it could be a case of “Neath, Neath, Neath” :-

Neath v Maesteg Harlequins (Home)

15 Aled Brew; 14 James Roberts, 13 Jon Bayliss,12 Sean Wilcox, 11 Louis Rees; 10 Steff Williams, 9 Luc Jones (captain); 1 Gareth Lloyd, 2 Evan Kneath, 3 Tim Ryan; 4 Ioan Jones, 5 Matthew Davies; 6 Morgan Kneath, 8 David Griggs, 7 Dyfan Ceredig

Replacements –  16 Chris Morris, 17 Jack Powell, 18 Jacob Blackmore, 19 Fergus Kneath, 20 Nicky Griffiths

Referee – Mr. Simon Mills (New Dock Stars)
