Neath RFC was saddened to hear of the passing of former Welsh international referee Mr. Meirion Joseph at the weekend.

Meirion lived locally and refereed Neath on countless occasions during the 1960’s and 1970’s and he took charge of 22 international matches between 1966 and 1977..

He holds a special place in the annals of Neath RFC as he also controlled the first WRU Cup final when, of course, Neath defeated Llanelli 15-9.
