Neath RFC

After narrowly missing out on what would have been a memorable victory in a fine encounter last week at Championship favourites Pontypool, Neath host Narberth at The Gnoll on Saturday (kick off 2.30pm).

Both teams go into the match with two wins and a defeat behind them : Neath have beaten Bargoed (34-20) and Bedwas (37-7) whereas Narberth have beaten Ystrad Rhondda (16-3) and Bedwas (27-26) but just lost to Bargoed (25-28).

Neath coach Patrick Horgan said, “We had our chances last week but that is done now. In many ways Narberth will be more difficult for us. They have a good scrum, a strong lineout and always give a good account of themselves so it is up to us to impose ourselves, keep our patterns and do what we do best.”

It will be a notable day for two Neath players – scrum-half Macauley Griffiths and No.8 David Griggs – who will be making their 50th appearances for the Club.

Macauley Griffiths is one of four changes to the starting line-up, winger James Roberts, prop Jack Powell and hooker Sion Crocker also returning.
