Neath RFC

Neath RFC are pleased to announce the return of Will Thomas as General Manager. Will is no stranger to supporters of the Welsh All Blacks as he served as CEO in 2014. During his previous tenure he most notably negotiated the return of the Ospreys back to the Gnoll since 2005, firstly in the summer of 2014 for a pre-season Premier 4×4 Competition and then for their LV Cup fixture against Saracens in Novermber 2014.

Will has recently returned, having started a new family, from Hong Kong where he had significant success as Director of Rugby / General Manger with The Hong Kong Football Club.

The appointment of Will falls hot on the heels of the appointment of ex Ospreys, London Welsh and Dragons Head Coach Lyn Jones. Neath RFC Chairman, Mike Cuddy commented, ‘Following the appointment of Lyn I was keen to strengthen the overall management of the Club as we are ferociously planning for next season with some very exciting signings to be announced soon.’
‘Will was a very popular figure with the Neath faithful making a big impact in a short space of time and he will undoubtedly add to the overall team. We’ve had a lean season on the pitch this season but I’ve no doubt that the changes I’ve made will ensure that we’re substantially more successful going forward an into a critical 2018/19 season.

Will Thomas commented on his appointment, ‘I left Neath in 2014 with a feeling of unfinished business so I’m keen to get back to the Gnoll. I enjoyed working with Mike previously, getting the Ospreys back to the Gnoll and when I met him recently his desire for Neath RFC hadn’t waned in anyway so it was an easy choice. Mike clearly wants to bring success back onto the pitch at Neath and has made an excellent choice in bringing Lyn back, we’ve now got the best coach in the Premiership with some exciting signings to follow.’

Neath RFC will be holding a supporters meeting in the club house on Wednesday 7th March, 7pm start. All supporters are invited for a Q&A with Will Thomas, Lyn Jones, Paul Williams, Martyn Morris and Owain Davies.
