Neath RFC

To celebrate our first anniversary as an official Walking Rugby Club, in association with Neath RFC, we took the decision to organise a Walking Rugby Festival at the Historic Gnoll Ground this coming Sunday 28th May.  We decided to create this festival to showcase Walking Rugby and the positive effect it has had on Mental Health and Wellbeing in all genders, age groups, different characters.

The Teams invited today have all been key in helping Neath Walking Rugby in their first year of existence and deserve to be showcased in an event as grand as this.

We have invited a plethora of Teams from all over South Wales:

  • YOGITS (Ystradgynlais Old Gits)
  • Taff’s Well Pace Makers
  • Pontyclun
  • Pontycymmer
  • Neath Athletic Spartans
  • Port Talbot Panthers
  • Morriston
  • Pontrhydyfen Saxons
  • Old Illtydians
  • Torfaen Swifts

The Festival is split into two Groups of Six on two pitches – Walking Rugby takes place in an area the size of roughly quarter a normal rugby pitch (22 to 10 yard and touchline to posts).

We must thank Neath RFC for their support, and various sponsors who have helped us along the way – Dean Evans, Garden Gates and More (Sarah and Clive Banyon), Auto Electrical Services, Skewen (Steve Jones), Cash For Clothes for sponsoring the Balls today.

Also thanks to everyone who has contributed to the Raffle, whether providing a prize or simply buying a ticket on the day.

We look forward to welcoming everyone and showcasing Walking Rugby!
