Message from Cardiff Met RFC:

This week we will also be holding a memorial game for a Cardiff Met student, Olivia, who sadly and suddenly passed away from SUDEP in August 2024. There will be a minute’s applause prior to the game with the players on field also doing a balloon release. Some of her friends will be around with charity buckets as well as link to a The JustGiving page:

”Olivia Williams, known and loved by many as Livvy, was the meaning of love and laughter. She had such a craving for the life she lived and the one that was ahead of her. She instilled in you every minute of the day, that you have one life and to live it to the fullest. If you had the privilege of even 10 minutes with her, you would’ve seen how she radiated absolute joy. She was the most incredible person you could ever meet.

Her 20th birthday is on the 27th of April, and as an early celebration for her, I have asked the Cardiff Met rugby team to dedicate their match on the 19th of April to her. She loved watching the Met games, with a Thatcher’s in hand, and I know that she would’ve loved this in her honour.

The game is at Cyncoed Campus, 2:30 KO, Cardiff Met RFC vs Neath RFC, 19th April.

Money spent on tickets, donated to the charity box at the game or donated directly to this JustGiving will go directly to SUDEP. They are an incredible charity.

Epilepsy is one of the top-ten causes of early death, and at SUDEP Action they focus their efforts on providing tools to help keep people safe, as well as prioritising the bereaved families from the illness. SUDEP is available to prevent deaths; to be supported and to be involved.
