Samurai Sportswear named as the new kit suppliers to Neath Rugby in 3 year partnership

Neath Rugby are delighted to announce a three year kit supply agreement with Samurai Sportswear, which will see Samurai create custom-made match-kit as well as a specially designed range of training gear, perfect for on and off the field.

PLEASE NOTE – IMAGE BELOW IS JUST A SAMPLE – PROPOSED DESIGNS WILL BE DISPLAYED AT THE SUPPORTERS’ DAY AT THE GNOLL ON SATURDAY 7th JULY – From 12.00 MIDDAY.

Along with their extensive knowledge of unique custom teamwear, Samurai Sportswear will be supplying Neath with the ICONIX™ test match jersey. This shirt has been specifically developed with Samurai’s elite rugby clubs to allow players at all levels to perform to the best of their ability, a performance advantage. The club will be able to benefit from Samurai’s bespoke training kit and leisurewear, making sure that everyone involved looks and feels their best in Samurai’s top quality fits and fabrics.

The team will wear the ICONIX™ test match jersey which is the exact same specification that many of our elite teams wear week in and week out. The design of the new ICONIX™ test match jersey will be determined by the Neath supporters from a choice of four designs at the supporter’s day at the Gnoll on Saturday 7th July, starting at 12 noon. Replicas will be available to buy by supporters through a club shop that Samurai will stock and manage for the club.

Will Thomas, General Manager for Neath Rugby, commented: “As a Club we want to make a statement with our kit in terms of its performance on the pitch, ability for supporters to purchase, to look good and to work with a global brand. These all add positively to the team’s performance and the image we portray as a professional business. Samurai presented to us an extremely attractive proposal that will ensure we achieve all of these and at an incredible price. I worked with Samurai in Hong Kong and they delivered an excellent product and an even better service. We know we didn’t deliver to our supporters last season on the replica kit front, this will now be rectified.”

Samurai Sportswear’s Sales Director, Mike Pells stated: “Samurai have been waiting for the right opportunity in Wales to deliver an effective partnership and increase our brand awareness within the country. We are well aware that Neath have had some challenging times over the last few seasons but we’ve worked with Will and Lyn before and know they are capable of returning Neath to their former glory. Also the Principality Premiership is heading for an exciting season with four teams being relegated and all the Premiership action now being screened on BBC Wales, Samurai want to be involved in a Country where everyone is so passionate about Rugby.’
