Neath RFC

Neath have captured highly-rated scrum-half Scott Gibson who joins from Llandovery.

The 24 year old from Onllwyn previously trained with Neath for a full season when he was a teenager but at such a tender age could not break into the Neath team at the time so he took his chance to broaden his rugby experience with a spell in Ireland before returning and playing 19 times for Llandovery last season when he scored three tries.

An accomplished performer, Scott also turned out for Ystalyfera RFC on their memorable journey to the Millennium Stadium last season and recently he helped Llandovery retain their Welsh Sevens crown. Now he is back at The Gnoll to contest the scrum-half berth.

Neath coach Gareth Llewellyn said, Scott is a talented all-round footballer and a real competitor who should prove popular with The Gnoll fans. His father played for Seven Sisters and Scott grew up locally which fits in with our home-grown policy.
