Neath RFC

Neath play their third pre-season warm-up match when Swansea visit The Gnoll on Thursday evening (kick off 7.15pm).

Having beaten Builth Wells then lost to Richmond, Neath take on a Swansea side who have a similar record having lost to English visitors Bedford and beaten Division 1 West Central Morriston so an intriguing evening is assured.

In the absence of regular Ryan Evans, the experienced Kristian Jones will lead Neath in only his third appearance.

Neath make several changes from the side which started against Richmond with scrum-half Gruff Williams who played for Llanelli last year making his debut.

Josh Congreve who has scored in both pre-season games is on the right wing and young Tom Weekley gets his first start on the other flank.

Elis Hopkins continues his education at prop and lock Ross O’Connor plays his first game since injuring a shoulder on Boxing Day.

Former Wales wing Dafydd Howells and back rower Morgan Kneath are likely to figure on the replacements’ bench along with prop Cori Phillips and Dyfan Ceredig who are available for the first time.
