Local wing prospect James Roberts has signed for Neath for the 2017/18 season.

The 20 year old has already played twice for Neath on permit from Glynneath after coming through Neath College and the regional age grade system and will compete for a wing spot with new signings Richard Smith and Mike Evans as well as Alec Jenkins while Geraint Llewellyn can play there too.

Neath backs coach Paul Williams taught James at Neath College and says, “I am looking forward to working with James again – he has the potential to make it at Premiership level in what looks an exciting back division full of scoring possibilities.”

“We are looking to build on the progress we made last season with a real cutting edge. The squad has been training hard and we are looking forward to getting into action at Skewen on Saturday next (August 5th – kick off 2.30pm).”
