The Gnoll echoed to the rafters on Saturday as Penallta won through to the final of the WRU Plate with a resounding 35-6 win over Newcastle Emlyn who fought hard to the end as Neath RFC hosted “semi-final week”.
Outside-half Joseph Scrivens supplied 15 points for Penallta with three conversions and three penalties with tries coming from lock Rhys Spanswick, winger Ryan Davies and replacements Elliot Keep and Lewis Rowden.
It was 13-3 at halftime, full back Shaun Leonard kicking a penalty in each half for Newcastle Emlyn.
* On Friday evening, the ground hosted the Dewar Shield Plate semi-final in which Newport Under-15’s beat Llanelli 26-20 and on Wednesday YG Ystalyfera beat Preseli 49-14 to reach the final of the Welsh Schools Cup.
