Neath RFC is sorry to learn of the passing of Allan ‘Albie’ Evans was well known as a former New Dock Stars and Llanelli Wanderers rugby player and played for Neath in 1969/70.
In October he kicked two late penalties against Aberavon to earn a 12-12 draw which kept Neath at the top of the table and another in a January defeat at Coventry.
A fine goal-kicker, Albie also did a stint playing American Football with the New England Patriots after winning a competition in 1971.
