Neath RFC

There will be a Boxing Day rugby derby at The Gnoll when Neath host near-neighbours Briton Ferry (kick off 2.30pm).

Having played just one game in five weeks – and none at The Gnoll since November 12 – Neath will be grateful for rugby action and good support is expected.

Behind the scrum injuries constrain selection but the Blacks make 11 changes from the side which was to have played Glamorgan Wanderers last Saturday.

Elis Horgan, home for the holidays from Bath University, features at centre and Neath Athletic’s Llewellyn Hawkes makes his second appearance on the wing.

Up front, prop Morgan Thomas also comes in from the Athletic and Neath will be glad to have Sam Langford and Ross O’Connor back in action and back rower Elis Hopkins will lead the side in his second start after injury.

Admission is £5 for adults and anyone Under-16 is FREE – supporters are advised to get to the ground early (turnstiles at the Town End only – open 1.30pm).

It will be Neath’s final game of 2022 before WRU Championship fixtures resume at Ystalyfera on January 7th.
