Neath RFC

NEATH RFC will help Brynaman RFC celebrate their 125th birthday this Friday with a special fixture at Brynaman.

With only one league fixture scheduled for November, Neath will bridge the gap by visiting the Greens on Friday, November 18th for a 7.15pm kick off.

Neath secretary Mike Price said, “Welsh clubs only having one game in a calendar month during the Autumn internationals is highly unsatisfactory so we have fitted in this extra game.

“It is important that we keep all our squad members active and match-ready so following the Cardiff Met fixture at The Gnoll last Saturday,  we will visit Brynaman before another break ahead of resuming league fixtures in December at Ystrad Rhondda.

“We are always happy to help clubs from our own patch and those who help us so we are pleased to visit Brynaman who over the years have passed on players including Cerith Thomas, Huw Morgan, Ralph Jones and others.

“And before the war there was a front row character named Denver Evans who managed to get himself sent off in successive games in 1939.

“It is an opportunity to thank Brynaman and for us to keep focussed too.”
