Neath RFC is saddened to learn of the passing of Peter Hamer who played four games for the Club in the early 1960’s. He might have played more but competition for places was intense and his path at The Gnoll was blocked by the formidable pairing of Glen Ball and Rhys Thomas who were both future captains.
Peter also played for Skewen, Swansea and Maesteg and, after his playing days, became a regular follower of the All Blacks “on the bank” at The Gnoll.
He worked in the Engineer’s Department of Neath Borough Council and the Club’s sympathies are extended to his family and friends.
